Their Stories

Empowering young people to build Great Futures

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County depends on community support in order to complete our mission of providing a safe environment for youth to start great futures. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to provide excellent programs, free meals, and a place to call home.

"I have been going to the Pawl Unit since I was six years old and recently became Youth of the Year for Weld County!

In these years, the staff has created an environment that made me feel safe, given me another place to call home, and helped me achieve academic success.

As a Youth of the Year, my goal is to help other teens struggling with mental health by sharing my voice and my story. This is the reason I will continue to help those around me, participate in the youth of the year, and inspire my peers."

"During COVID, my mom was a nurse and had to work a lot. Because of that, she would drop me off at the Club to do school.

The staff were so nice and helped me when I was having a hard time with homework. They even let me play my favorite games when I got my work done.

I have made lots of new friends and was able to get the help I needed. Because of the staff, I think I am getting much brighter, and I am one day going to become a genius!"
