Empowering Greeley’s Teens: Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County Unveils New Teen Center

Updated: Jul 5, 2024

What seemed like a typical day in Greeley with kids playing games and parents enjoying live music, was anything but usual for teens at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County.  On this Saturday afternoon—the community was celebrating something big—the grand opening of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County’s new Teen Center facility in Greeley.

The center gives teens in Greeley, and nearby communities, a place to call their own. The 15,000-square-foot building was originally built as a roller-skating rink in the 1921. Now, the newly refurbished center is a place for teens to connect with their community, learn new skills, and stay active.

The grand opening event, sponsored by longtime partner, Comcast NBCUniversal, featured live music, a live painter, appearances from Denver Broncos cheerleaders, and food trucks.

“We’re grateful for the wonderful longtime partnership we’ve enjoyed with Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County, investing in programs that provide access for youth to a variety of technologies and help them build valuable digital skills. The new Teen Center offers a wide range of terrific opportunities and resources for teens. Comcast is proud to help celebrate the grand opening of this wonderful new space for youth in Greeley!"
