September was a month of energy, exploration, and unforgettable experiences at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County Teen Center. We’re always looking for ways to make learning and connection exciting for our teens, and this past month was a perfect example of how powerful that can be.

We kicked things off with a special sports clinic hosted by the Colorado Rapids. Teens had the chance to sharpen their soccer skills, run drills, and hear directly from professional athletes about the importance of teamwork, dedication, and perseverance—lessons that go far beyond the field and into everyday life.

Career exploration was also a big focus. Teens toured Aims Community College to learn about educational pathways and had the opportunity to speak with the Milliken Police Chief, who shared powerful insights about leadership, responsibility, and serving the community. These experiences helped teens start thinking about their futures and the impact they can make.
We also welcomed the American Red Cross for a Junior CPR training session. Teens learned basic life-saving skills through hands-on instruction—an empowering experience that built confidence and showed the importance of being prepared to help others in times of need.

And of course, we made time for fun. Our first-ever Teen Night was a 90s throwback party, complete with retro music, dancing, and good vibes. It was a huge success and a great reminder that safe, joyful spaces are just as important as academic and career-focused ones.
From soccer drills with professionals to meaningful conversations with local leaders, from life-saving skills to unforgettable themed nights—this month at the Teen Center has been all about growth, exploration, and community. We’re proud of the enthusiasm and curiosity our teens bring to every opportunity, and we’re excited to see what’s next.
