On December 11th, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County hosted our annual Hope Breakfast at the DoubleTree in downtown Greeley. This inspiring event brought together community members, supporters, and staff to celebrate the incredible impact of Club programs—and most importantly, the young people who are shaping the future.

The morning was filled with heartfelt stories, a delicious breakfast, and a powerful reminder of why our mission matters. One of the highlights of Hope Breakfast was recognizing our Up-and-Coming Youth of the Year as well as our Junior Youth of the Year candidates—remarkable young leaders from across our Clubhouses. These members exemplify courage, kindness, and determination.
Here’s what their Clubhouse Directors had to say:
Xzavian, Up-and-Coming Youth of the Year – Teen Center

"Xzavian is one of those rare individuals who redefines what true leadership looks like. Every interaction with him reinforces the belief that he is destined to make this world a better place. His resilience and determination are nothing short of inspiring. Instead of allowing challenges to define him, he has turned them into steppingstones toward success. He shines brightly, and in doing so, he gives others permission to shine as well."
— Brian, Director of Teen Services
Madison & Riley – Fort Morgan Clubhouse

"Madison and Riley have been members of the Fort Morgan Clubhouse since it opened in summer of 2023. They love being at Club—whether it’s hanging out with friends, taking part in programs, or having fun in the gym. Both have shown qualities that make great leaders: helping new members, showing others the correct way to play games, and solving problems quickly. They make our Club a better place every day."
— Brad, Fort Morgan Clubhouse Director
Isaiah – Monfort Clubhouse

"Isaiah has been a member of the Monfort Boys & Girls Club for two and a half years. He goes the extra mile to be kind and thoughtful to everyone—staff and members alike. Isaiah enjoys helping others, making them feel heard, and tries to be everyone’s friend. This year, he worked hard in math and improved significantly! Fun fact: he loves to draw!"
— Ruby, Monfort Clubhouse Director
Theadore (Theo) – Galeton Clubhouse

"Theo stands out as a leader because of his courage to try new things and his ability to spread positivity and kindness everywhere he goes. He attended Hope Breakfast this year—his first big event—and showed incredible enthusiasm. His dedication and leadership in Cub Scouts are truly inspiring."
— Anaistacia, Galeton Clubhouse Director
Dayanara (Daya) – Pawl Clubhouse

"Dayanara is 11 years old and has been attending the Pawl Clubhouse for over three years. Her growth does not go unnoticed! Every day, Daya walks in with a smile, ready to greet friends and staff. She’s the first to volunteer when there’s a chance to help—whether it’s creating décor for parties or planning fun activities for all the kids. Her inspiring personality shines through and makes her a member to look up to. We couldn’t be prouder of Daya and all her hard work inside and outside of Club."
— Xavier, Pawl Clubhouse Director
These young leaders remind us why we do what we do. They are living proof that when kids have a safe place, caring mentors, and opportunities to grow, they don’t just overcome challenges—they thrive. Each smile, each act of kindness, and each moment of courage we witnessed at Hope Breakfast tells a bigger story: the story of hope, resilience, and the power of community. When you invest in a child, you invest in a brighter future for all of us.
