Summer 2025: Fun Fridays, Field Trips & Future Leaders

Updated: Sep 26

Wow — another incredible summer has come and gone, and it feels like it flew by faster than ever. Maybe that’s because we packed it full of laughter, new adventures, and more Fun Fridays than we can count! Across our Clubhouses, members explored new ideas, built lasting friendships, and made memories that will stay with them long after the summer sun fades.

This year, our summer camp was built around nine exciting weekly themes—Sports Mania, Animal Planet, Disney, Rainforest, Safari, Colorado, Space Expedition, Under the Sea, and a final Beach Bash to celebrate the season. These themes, chosen by Clubhouse Directors, guided daily activities across our core program areas: Art, Education, Service & Leadership, and Health & Wellness

Members painted rainforest animals, crafted Mickey ears, built boats from recycled materials, and created collaborative art projects for end-of-summer showcases. In Education, STEM came alive through rocket launches, volcano experiments, and dinosaur discoveries. Health & Wellness programs included yoga, stretching, and nutrition lessons thanks to our partnership with the Integrated Nutrition Education Program.

Themed Fridays added extra excitement—Summer-ween, Disney Day, Field Day, Monfort-palooza, and more. Members dressed up, decorated, and dove into creative challenges that sparked imagination and joy.

Field trips were a highlight across all Clubhouses. From GlowGolf and bowling to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, SonFlower Ranch, and Denver Aquarium, our members explored the world around them. Splash pads, ice cream stops, and roller-skating adventures kept spirits high and smiles even bigger.

At the Art Barker Clubhouse, our Service & Leadership program took center stage with a youth-led community service project. Guided by Olivia from our Milliken location, members organized a Yard Sale and lemonade stand, raising $500 to support A Woman’s Place in Greeley.

From planning to donation collection and event execution, our members led every step. They voted on the cause, learned about community needs, and even met with representatives from A Woman’s Place to understand how their efforts would help.

After the sale, members were divided into teams to shop for essential items requested by the organization. It was a hands-on lesson in budgeting, teamwork, and empathy. The project came full circle when members delivered the donations, knowing they had made a real difference.

End-of-summer traditions brought everything together. Monfort hosted its annual Kid Coachella, where members performed on stage for their peers. Fort Morgan wrapped up with an epic water fight with the Fire Department—a favorite tradition where the firefighters always win, but the kids have the time of their lives. From scavenger hunts and splash pads to STEM experiments and service projects, Summer 2025 was bursting with creativity, courage, and connection. We’re so proud of our members and grateful to our staff, families, donors, and partners who made it all possible.

We can’t wait to see what next summer brings—but one thing’s for sure: the memories made this year will keep us smiling all year long.
